This is a generally good quality toaster oven. The one issue I have is that they should re-design it so that the oven rack is pulled towards you when you open the door. This will make it easier to take cooked food out of the toaster oven. It doesn't do this so you have use tongs or a fork to get your toast/food out and it tends to fall off and onto the heating element below.

This toaster oven is really well constructed. The unit is solid, high quality construction, the shelf rides smoothly, the cooking tray is not that cheap aluminum that you usually get in the cheaper models, and it's generally a great oven.....except it doesn't toast. Too bad. I loved everything about this unit except for the fairly loud buzzer which was somewhat annoying, but I could live with that. But when we put one piece of bread into the unit with the rack in the appropriate place and with all the dials set appropriately, the top toasted and the bottom turned into mush and stuck to the rack. We tried several different types of bread and they all did the same thing. What good is a toaster oven if it can't toast a simple piece of bread. All that high tech and they seemed to miss the main criteria. IT NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO TOAST. I guess the unit that we got had that IQ technology, but I'd rate the IQ at a pretty low level. Not too bright!!!! The unit was returned. In the technology world that we live in, it shouldn't be too much to ask to have a toaster oven be able to toast a simple piece of bread.

I chose this toaster oven after reading reviews of all the top toaster ovens on Amazon. Yes, the Breville is more expensive then the rest but you know the saying "you get what you pay for" and this toaster oven is worth every penny.
There are multiple settings on this toaster oven for different methods of heating and toasting. For example if you want to reheat, bake, toast, toast frozen bread, toast a bagel etc. My previous toaster oven just had a temperature control for baking and a toast setting. These new setting options are a welcome change and make a huge difference with the food you are heating/cooking. I have starting using my microwave and oven less because the Breville does such an impressive job heating the food.
The toaster oven is well designed. Two simple things I like the most are:
1 - The crumb catch tray in the bottom is easy to remove and clean and when you open the door no crumbs get caught in the edge and end up on your counter (this drove me crazy with my previous toaster).
2 - The digital clock - I like knowing exactly how long it will take to toast things. I never realized it took 4-5 minutes to toast bread and now I start the toaster and run off to do a few other things while its cooking.
LOVE IT - worth the $$$$
